OK, consider yourself warned: the
following funnies have been rated NSFW ("Not Safe For
Work"), so click at your own risk. Since it's likely that Farscape
won't continue on SCI FI, readers of Fark have gone to
town and photoshopped our favorite
characters into new programs, new networks, heck, entirely new
demographics. It's a long page, enjoy the scroll -- there are a
few images that don't load, but the ones that do are well worth
the time. This Free Cool Stuff item
shamelessly snurched from FarscapeNews.
Now, onto more literary endeavors. Ever wonder what someone who doesn't watch Farscape regularly thought of season 4, so far? Now all your questions can be answered! Tough Pigs takes on Farscape in these just-long-enough, unfailingly funny, and true write-ups on episodes 4.01 through 4.10. Sure, Danny might miss a few things here or there, but his comments are dead-on and you can't help laughing. Well, I couldn't, anyway. Thanks to Ross Ruediger for posting this on alt.tv.farscape, otherwise I never would've known about it.
I'm including the the Farscape Fanscape Enumarator, a collection of demographic data of Farscape viewers again in this issue. If you haven't clicked over to 'register' yourself, please do so -- the Farscape's demographics are one of its key selling points.

This week, LOTS of morale-boosters for
'Scapers everywhere.
First, our Save'Scape campaign now has a theme song! Have a listen to Brian McAdams' classic Blues work, Farscape Blues, highlighted in the left-hand column. I particularly like the extended version.
Scaper cartoonist Todd Michael's Boarders and Sister weighs in with an amusing and true-to-life portrayal of 'Scapers in this toon.
Tachyon TV has devoted its entire recent issue to Farscape's cancellation. Be sure to read the "crawls" underneath the main banner. My favorite? "Jimmy Carter sent to Henson/SCI FI Channel negotiations", although, "The SCI FI Channel putting the psychotic back in sci-fi" is a close second. Many thanks to editor/publisher Neil Perryman for his quick coverage of the news and dedication to the cause.
Last but not least, click on over and be counted on the Farscape Fanscape Enumarator, a collection of demographic data of Farscape viewers. No cheating!

Most households subscribing to The SCI FI Channel also get The Cartoon
Network as part of their programming package.
If you've ever tuned into, and enjoyed, the bizarro interview
show Space Ghost Coast to Coast, you're in
for treat. HynerianDonkey has created ScapeGhost:
Carolina Style BBQ. The Ghost
interviews John Crichton (not Ben Browder) and Brian Henson;
you'll need the Flash plug-in to watch the movie. It's only about
1MB, so it's no big deal to download, and good for some laughs if
Space Ghost suits your style.

So, just how big a Farscape
fan are you? The SadGeezer's Farscape
Purity Test may tell you more than you want to
know... I was classified as a Manic Academic Farscape
Fanatic, and while I laughed at the accompanying profile
description, a few of the points came perhaps a little too close
to home. The test is a fine bit of fun even though it clearly
dates back to Season One, and there are a number of typos in the
test itself. There are also a few questions with maddeningly
ambiguous answers -- more than one could be considered correct.
So take your best shot and see how you fare; somehow I'm sure
anyone reading this won't end up in the Farscape Twerp
category.
The Sad Geezer site itself is huge, and they have tons of resources on all things sci-fi. Unfortunately, their Farscape reviews, etc, only extend through Season Two, but there is more than enough elsewhere on the site to keep you busy for as long as you want. Check out this introduction and enjoy! Warning: Tons of pop-ups. Sorry.

Return with me to FarPark!
Sean McArdle originally
conceived the delightfully goofy idea of merging Farscape
and South Park. Who can forget his Scorpius
(shown at left) ? When Sean retired from FarParking after
creating his gallery of eight
characters, I feared we'd never see any of the newer characters
in this whimsical light.
Well, artist Nancy
(NMCrichton on the Ultimate Farscape bulletin board) has stepped
up to fill the void, and has created an entirely new gallery of FarParked
characters including Stark, Pilot, and Jool. Nancy's devotion to
David Franklin's Braca has led her to create not one but two
versions of her FarParked Braca, first as a lieutenant, and then
as a captain (shown at right). I hope you enjoy Nancy's work as
much as I do.
Look for an updated version of the Who's Who, featuring all the FarPark characters, coming soon!

Two entries this week, revisiting some
old favorites with great new stuff.
First, if you don't know who VenomSoup is, shame on you. It's very difficult to summarize the qualities of this long-time Scaper in a short paragraph like this, but I can list a couple of his notable accomplishments: he's the owner of the Farscape WebRing, and the creative force behind the bodacious Space Babes website. The latest addition to his CV is video editor. Check out his "estrogen free" Farscape vid, BodyScape, with music by Drowing Pool, on DallaScapers' ever-awesome FarscapeFantasy. (D'you think I could fit any more links in that paragraph?)
Still looking for more free cool stuff? Don't you people have lives? OK, this should keep you busy for a while: the hardworking peoples over at KarlsWeb are happy to announce KWeb 2.0. In other words, they've completely redesigned the place and there's tons of new content as well. One thing I noticed right off the bat was a newly expanded costuming page, with patterns and instructions. Be sure I'll be bookmarking that and sending it out again in time for upcoming Halloween parties.

Thanks again to atf'er Sorlk
Lewis for posting about this: Gaming site 3DGamers has a major
demo of Simon & Schuster Interactive's upcoming Farscape
PC game available for download. You can
also access the download at BluesNews. It features
a movie introduction, a training level, and partial game
functionality that allows you to control Crichton or Chiana. I've
not downloaded yet. It clocks in at close to 64MB. I encourage
you gaming types to give it a try and let me know what you think.
Lou Charles of S&S Online Marketing confirms that the game will ship on August 13th.

We featured Adam Hastings'
work here once before, but he has since completely revamped his
website, and so you must go see it, again! In addition to his
original brilliant Farsons, Adam has added a set
of Farsons character cards, some excellent sketches, and one
hysterical painting, "Simpscape", which brings Moya's
crew to The Simpsons' living room couch. You
gotta see this stuff -- again.
To get some insights in Adam's creative process, check out this interview from the good folks over at ScapeRoute.
¤ 25-Jun-02
A somewhat hidden gem resides over on FarscapeDarkscape: a nifty
little Farscape eCard page, featuring a gallery of
24 terrific images and an easy-to-use interface for specifying
all your postcard's details. You can even send them to youself. I
know several fans will be interested in the shot of Crais in his
Miami policeman's uniform from "Won't Get Fooled
Again"...
¤ 18-Jun-02
This week's tip may come as a
surprise: check out The SciFi Channel's very own Farscape site, and
you'll find it completely redesigned with tons of new content.
Along with the familiar Journey Logs, etc, you'll now find a
Primer, Allies & Enemies, and a Translator (glossary of Farscape
terms). Unfortunately, they've moved News & Updates off the
main page, but it's worth it to click on over: check out the new streaming video interview with Gigi
Edgely. Don't miss it!

A couple of quick laughs this week...
If you haven't been over to Karl's Web recently, you gotta go and check out the latest sponsor of the Humor Page: Hyneria's Secret.
I found this little gem on Annie's Farscape Fanfic Page: If you've got little ones or just like animated films, you're sure to get every single reference in Annie's If Disney Produced Farscape.

Trying to describe AllSciFi.Com is a little
bit like trying to explain "Crackers Don't Matter." You
have to see it to believe it, and it may not be to everyone's
taste. There is a certain irreverance, shall we say, a definite
edge, and a sometimes wicked, sometimes moronic, sense of humor.
Here's a quick sampling of some of the Farscape topics
over on AllSciFi:
¤ Help rescue John Crichton from slavery -- an
online bidding game; I haven't quite figured it out
¤ Talk directly to some of your favorite 'Scape characters --
psuedo-chats with Crichton, Chiana, Scorpius...
¤ Trivia questions -- you can add your own
¤ "TV Commentary" forums; a current topic is "If
Zahn[sic] were in a salad, what would you have her with?"
You won't find fans here obsessively correcting other's spelling
errors, but you will note a tendency towards the silly.
Physiology comes up often. Expect some stupidity, but expect
laughs, as well. If looking at FARSCAPE from a slightly skewed
perspective sounds like it might be fun to you, click on over.

The SCIFI
Channel, as part of its recognition of Free
Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 4, is running a contest for it's
registered members to win the original autographed artwork of a
spiffy Farscape/Stargate SG-1 poster. Prizes
also include Spiderman action figures and web
blaster toys, which are really cool. My five-year-old son got one
for his birthday... imagine silly string, only much less silly.
Speaking of Free Comic Book Day, be sure to click through to find your local participating outlets. All you have to do is drop by on Saturday, May 4, to receive a free comic book. How cool is that?
alt.tv.farscape newsgroup regular Trouble reports that one of his favorite comic shops also has free Farscape/Stargate SG-1 postcards promoting SCIFI's new Friday night lineup. So if you stop by on May 4, you might actually score some Farscape swag as well!
For the more musically inclined, SCIFI's Farscape page has new links to download two of Guy Gross's evocative choral works from "Into the Lion's Den, part 2: Wolf in Sheep's Clothing." The spelling is a bit off, but don't be put off by that; both "Lacrimosa" and "Salva Me" deserve another listen.
¤ 15-Apr-02
The good people at KarlsWeb have
posted a set of downloadable video covers, the kind
you can slip into the plastic that wraps around the box itself.
The covers are typical, grade A Karlsweb work: unsurpassed photo
collages using some of the incredible screen captures they've
snagged. The spine pictures are slices of Moya, so when you stand
them all of up together on the shelf, they'll look good enough to
have your friends asking, "Hey, what are these?" Even
if you don't need the video covers, its worth taking a trip over
there just to look at the art.
¤ 08-Apr-02
You simply must check out the Game
Developer's Diary, a new entry on the SCIFI
Channel's Farscape page that is
updated periodically by Alan McDairmant of Red Lemon Studios, the
company producing the upcoming Farscape game for
Simon & Schuster.

Some people have too much free
time on their hands. How else can you explain this? Unfortunately I wasn't able
to locate an email link or any ID at all on the site -- if anyone
finds it, please contact me so I can
give credit where it's due.

Our beloved cast has been morphed into
yet another 'toon universe, when Adam Hastings
answers the question, "What would happen if Farscape
met The Simpsons?" Check out his hilarious
cross-over, The
Farsons and don't forget to
click on the "view more Farscape art
HERE!" link, either. Thanks to FarscapeAnonymous'er
EmeraldCity for providing this link!

More funny stuff: accomplished
'toonist John Cook serves up four Futurama-ish
strips in his portfolio of SevScape works.
¤ 12-Feb-02
Need a chuckle? Check out the FarceScape Gallery at Scotsman's
Babbling Farce, the brillian work of Todd F. Brugmans.
The most recent strip is about a year old; perhaps with an email
campaign we could persuade the Scotsman to add to his gallery?
¤ 05-Feb-02
They're not free, but they could be
some day... the talented people at Light Speed Fine Arts are working
on two new Farscape posters, and they've got a
sneak peek at one of 'em, another character gallery. Farscape #2
is promised to be a battle scene! I'll be sure to keep checking
in to let you know when they're available, and if Light Speed
decides to feature them in their monthly poster giveaway contest.
¤ 22-Jan-02
The Farscape video
game, developed by Red Lemon and
available in April 2002 from publisher Simon & Schuster Interactive, is getting
quite a bit of web press these days. You can look at preview
commentary here and here, or download a cool movie
preview, here, to see just
how cool it looks: very! Whoever put that promo piece together
made excellent use of SubVision's original theme music, as well. Thanks
to atf'ers Lee Jamilkowksi and
Angus MacSmashie for providing
the review links.
¤ 15-Jan-02
UK Scapers only...the BBC is running a
contest in which you can win a free year's subscription to the
Official Farscape Magazine, including issue #3
autographed by Anthony Simcoe (D'Argo). You must
correctly answer a series of questions about Season 3; upon
successful completion, you will be given a keyword which will
allow you to enter the drawing for the subscription. Take the
quiz here, it's fun even if you're not
eligible to win anything. The contest closes on 21 January.
¤ 08-Jan-02
Unfortunately this item is too late
for all those 'Scapers New's Year Eve parties, but perhaps we can
put it to good use during our New Year's resolution work outs? TechScaper has just
launched his new site, The Gammak
Bass, featuring Farscape-inspired
dance tunes in handy MP3 format, just right for
boogie-oogie-oogie'ng. Check 'em out!
¤ 23-Dec-01
Lightspeed
Fine Arts monthly poster give-away contest features a Farscape
poster this month. Enter once, and once only, here, but be quick! The contest
closes on January 5. Thanks to Katya's

The
Official Farscape Magazine, a gorgeous glossy
production, is launching a free monthly eZine. eMail the folks at

In case you missed it, early last spring TV Guide's Ultimate
Cable edition ran a nifty little four-page Farscape
comic, which is
available at the official Farscape
website. The story is feather-light, Crichton
talks way too much, and the characterization of Aeryn is
annoying, but the graphics are awesome and more than make up for
these minor irritations. Highly recommended.
¤ 27-Nov-01
From
the sublime to the ridiculous... Farscape Music Videos
to suit just about every taste are out there just waiting to be
downloaded into your desktop media player. Check out the great
selection over on Dallascaper's FarscapeFantasy, which also
includes links to other sites. My all-time favorite remains the
video set to Phil Collins' song from the Tarzan
soundtrack, "Strangers Like Me", by Nickless. The lyrics
are particularly apt, and Nickless brilliantly captured the
wonder and confusion of Season One's "Earpman" just
finding his way in a very strange new world.
¤ 12-Nov-01
For the gamers out there... "Monopoly"
enthusiast and Farscape fan Nick has created a gorgeous
version of "Farscape-opoly", complete with the
Uncharted Territories' versions of properties, utilities, and
even "Chance" and "Community Chest" cards.
Click over to Nick's Farscapoly! page and
take a look.

Mac wizard Thinkum
whipped up these awesome graphics to inaugurate her new "Snurchables" page at A Snurcher's Guide to Farscape. These icons are not to be
missed! Highly recommended!
